Avoiding a “No-Load” Fee for Shipping a Personal Vehicle
A “no-load” fee may be imposed on a transport if the carrier arrives (or is on the way) to pick up and the vehicle is not ready to ship–for any reason. That carrier expended time, energy and resources, only to end up with an empty spot on their trailer rather than a vehicle that they were counting on. A “no-load” fee amount can vary greatly from carrier to carrier, and we always try to negotiate it to the lowest we possibly can for you.
The #1 reason people receive a “no-load” fee is that the vehicle is not ready when the carrier arrives. In many cases, something changed to the ready date but we were not notified. When we assign a carrier to your transport based on the ready-to-ship date provided, it is imperative that we be informed if anything changes to the ready date.
